#StopBlamingWomenMakeMenTheIssue: The Almost Facebook Famous Rapist [Names Withheld Due to Minors]

— Trigger Warning —

Last year, I read an article by Jane Gilmore, discussing that there was no national outrage or outcry, and little had been said in the media, about the fact that just the other week in Australia, six women were murdered in five days.

Six women were murdered in five days.

As nothing has changed, I’m continuing with this same theme in 2019, and women murdered at the result of male violence will be featured on every Thursday post, as well as an entry from The Ex Files.

I would also like to take this opportunity to note that during this time, White Ribbon has decided that it wants to be “agnostic” when it comes to women seeking safe and legal abortions. They recently, and very publicly, admitted that they were putting money before the lives of women. White Ribbon has always been problematic as fuck, but I want you to blow this shit open. As White Ribbon and Scott Morrison and our Australian government tries to backtrack for openly fucking women over in 2018 and publicly admitting money meant more to them than women’s health, I urge you to crucify and bury both. I urge you to show Australia, our PM, and our government that WOMEN’S RIGHTS FUCKING MATTER AND WE’RE SICK OF WOMEN DYING AND OUR GOVERNMENT DOING JACKSHIT.

As always, there will be hotline information at the bottom of the page, and you are always welcome to contact me on Facebook or DM me on my Instagram @thingscarlaloves if you need to talk to someone.

If you are aware that someone might be in danger, I implore you to please speak up. You may be wrong, but you may also save someone’s life.

I always prefer to put the victim’s name first, and repeat it as much as possible, while, if at all possible, refusing to name the perpetrator.

The reason being is that I can tell you all about Ted Bundy.

But I can’t tell you the name of any of his victims.

I still can’t remember the name of his wife, his fiancees or his child, despite the fact that when I was studying Criminology and Profiling, I did a fucking case study on him.

It’s the same reason why Martin Bryant’s name is burned into my mind, but despite the fact I’ve yet to get through a single lesson where my voice doesn’t crack at the moment I describe the moment he gunned down a mother and her two small children, one of which was hiding behind a tree.

I can’t ever seem to remember the names of the victims, regardless of whether or not I’ve literally studied a serial killer for a case study assignment or whether I’ve taught the Port Arthur massacre more times than I can remember.

I hate that I can remember the names of murderers, but not the names of their victims.

And I know that more than one serial killer, spree killer or mass murderer has believed that their antics will earn them validation and notoriety.

And more often than not, it does.

After all, even if you don’t seek the videos themselves, you hear about their manifestos. It’s reported on and paraphrased and impossible to miss.

Obviously, even if I somehow had the names of the multiple girls I’m going to mention, I would not name them. I can’t imagine any cruel bastard that would name someone who didn’t want to be named, let alone that of a fucking child.

My point is that I hope you’ll forgive the rather crass moniker I used as the heading, but in my opinion, it’s better than giving him a name (he thinks he’s Facebook famous; he’s not). However, if you have a strong opinion one way or the other, I would appreciate your feedback.

The shit-stain of a human named Rian Lee Ryan (at least he has an Austin Powers-sounding villain name) used Facebook and Snapchat to manipulate (by telling them he’d have them beaten up) twelve, thirteen and fourteen-year-old girls into sending them nude photos, before then snap-shotting the images and then blackmailing them with it for other rapist intent. (I’m being heavy-hitting, because it doesn’t get any nicer than that. It gets much, much worse, and the triggers for minors are different. If you want to bow out now, that’s understandable, because I assure you, it gets worse.)

With one of his known victims, a fourteen-year-old girl, he also used private information – sexual images she sent (which, if you are in the possession, take, steal, have or watch, is a criminal fucking offence you fucking child-raping piece of shit pedophile) – to coerce her to meet up with him.

After forcing his victim to meet with him, he then proceeded to rape, kidnap and assault her.

Every time his fourteen-year-old victim tried to escape, he would further assault her.

Despite being raped four or five times, and brutalised every time she tried to escape, his fourteen-year-old victim managed to escape the next morning, when her piece-of-shit stain attacker finally fell asleep.

I just want to take a moment so that this girl’s bravery kicks in: this little girl was terrified, blackmailed, abused, beaten, raped, and not only escaped, but sent this motherfucker to jail.

That’s right.

After experiencing all that hell had to offer, she then went through an excruciating process to prove that this actually had happened to her.

This person committed his first known rape at seventeen, making him a serial rapist and offender.

As this has only just concluded, the victims have had to deal with this investigation and trial since 2015.

He has only received five years for his heinous crimes.

Despite multiple victims, their lives are worth only five years.

But, ya know, despite the fact that this proven serial offender will be out before these girls have a chance to even consider recovering from what he did to them, men are the real victims here.

And they don’t like being told that they could do better than the bare minimum.

And if in doubt, please use CARS, because you’ve got to start learning what information to trust and why you’re trusting it. Also, if you want more sources than provided, fuck off and learn how to use Google.

Is the claim credible? Is the author writing biased? Is the author credible? An elite education doesn’t make someone more or less credible, so you often have to look beyond a person’s education background.

Do the claims fit in to an accurate timeline? Do the claims made by the author reasonably stand up? If you’re seeing a lot of inaccuracies, especially against the timeline the person is creating, you need to consider if the claim is accurate. Context is often key.

Mostly, this comes down to whether or not the person is clearly creating a bias. Obviously, everyone has biases. I try and declare mine at the bottom of every post that I think would benefit from extra sources. I freely admit that I definitely have biases, prejudices and will obviously write in a way that conveys what I believe is the truth. That doesn’t mean I’m always right – which is why reasonableness is so important. Everyone is biased, and it’s virtually impossible to not impose your belief, in some form, while sharing. But if the person is deliberately manipulating facts, or omitting information, then they are an untrustworthy source (here’s looking at you, Fox).

Basically, this comes down to whether or not you can find “support” for the claims made. In anything professional, like an essay or journal article, references are essential. However, information can come from popular media sites, or from TV shows/movies, that might require YOU to do some work. I know that conservatives, in particular, seem to detest this as they seem to believe that the other person needs to do all the work, but that’s not how you actually learn. You learn by taking the information and researching it yourself. If you refuse to do this, which is an important part of the process, you will never truly progress in your own education. Out of everything here, I honestly believe this is the most important. If you are unwilling to research things on your own, and instead demand someone else to do the work for you, you have no interest in learning or understanding a different position. You are looking for confirmation bias.
