My name is Carla (obviously, as this is about all the things I love!), and I’m a twenty-eight-year-old teacher and author.
I’ve written for a variety of online and paper magazines, and I have a Bachelor’s Degree in English and History.
Why Should You Follow This Blog?
Because I’m fantastic. I’m smart. I’m beautiful. I’m hilarious.
Actually, I’m not really that funny. But what I will offer you is honesty, advice, help, something funny to read (hopefully – remember, not that funny, hence the pretty face), trivia, facts, and up-to-date commentary on political and social events.
What Makes Your Blog Unique?
That honesty thing again. I don’t want to present you with an illusion that you have to strive for. Instead of scrolling through all those perfect Instagram feeds, hearing all those perfect love stories hashtag #foreverlove, I will be real.
My life isn’t perfect.
My marriage isn’t perfect.
I have the most god-awful in-laws.
I’m certainly not perfect.
I have so many health conditions that makes life extremely difficult, but I don’t let that stop me.
I won’t tell you to smile more or preach to you how I did this and now my life is perfect; I’ll be honest.
So Why Should I Stay?
Because I’ll teach you how to practice self-care, be mindful, to take care of you. To learn that negative emotions and events are okay, and to help you approach those situations better. And, because I’m not promoting a perfect life, you get the pleasure of reading all about my fuck ups!
It’s like being able to read The Bold and the Beautiful but hopefully slightly less dramatic, and hopefully with far less surprise-not-really-dead deaths.
How Can I Reach You?
At the end of all my posts, I include links to my Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Facebook and Instagram are probably your best bets for reaching me, as I still don’t know how fucking Twitter works.
I definitely want to hear from you, including your thoughts, feelings, and ideas. If you want me to review or cover something, please let me know!
What Does Your Post Schedule Look Like? What Can I Expect?
Mondays: Carla’s Drunk Reviews – designed to be a ‘fun’ read. If you want something reviewed, please share!
Tuesdays: Ask Carla – at the moment, I’ve been answering a lot of ‘#WhyIDidn’tReport’ questions, and in the past I’ve focused a lot on The Friendship Breakup series. If you have any questions, or would like some advice, please feel free to privately message me. You are welcome to remain anonymous; most people choose to.
Wednesdays: Sex, Marriage and Lies, a mini-series. The first in this series is The Affair. You are definitely welcome to ask questions and advice that can be featured in a Tuesday post, if you’d like, or maybe even be followed up in a proper post.
Thursdays: Are dedicated to Raising Awareness. At the moment, that series is focusing on all the women who have been murdered in Australia as a result of male violence this year. It was originally listed under ‘Sticks and Stones’, but has been changed to the hashtag ‘#StopBlamingWomenMakeMenTheIssue’ after Toyah Cordingley’s murder.
Fridays: Showcase Special. At the moment, it’s Forgotten Female Scientists. Like with all the others, I would love to hear your thoughts, if you have someone you think should be recognised. After I finish writing a few more posts on Scientists, I’ll move on to Forgotten Female Leaders.
Saturdays: Carla’s Sometimes Sober Drunk Reviews are slightly more serious reviews, and include gameplays and walkthroughs. You’re welcome to request certain walkthroughs if you’d like.
Sundays (coming soon): Will be Carla’s Mindfulness Classes, which will help you with your journey, and to help you practice self-care, so that you can be the best person you can be.
Well, I’m a published author! My debut novel, You Know You Want It, can be found on Amazon and is currently FREE with Kindle Unlimited!
So what are you waiting for?
You know you want it.
